MINDFUL MOVEMENTS - Gigong/Meditation/Energy Medicine

Please dress in layers, wear a dancey skirt if you like. The cushy carpet makes needs no shoes and no sore joints after!!

Join us for an opportunity to move, feel, release, connect and revitalize.

A typical session looks like this:
15 minutes or so of introduction to Gabrielle's work and the 5 Rhythms. Then we put the music on and dance about 90 minutes (or so) in a darkened room beginning with FLOWING (sadness), then STACCATO (anger), CHAOS (fear), LYRICAL (joy) and finishing with STILLNESS. At the end you receive a gong bath while resting.

There are suggested movement patterns to help you access each rhythm but everyone dances their own dance and there are no steps to follow or learn. Each of us dance at our own pace and ability, and the focus is on the inner dance, not on how we look or how others are doing. As Gabrielle says, "Dance ugly and drool". 

"I often refer to this work as an "emotional colonic" because when I am finished I feel so clean and free, practically reborn. AND the great thing about this work is that it can be a therapeutic experience OR you can just come and dance and have fun!" (Kelly the Dancer). 

Bring a water bottle, dress in layers you can peel off, wear a dancey skirt if you like, or something comfortable. 
Easy free parking if you use the multistory Parkade parking garage on Collier St. across from the Scotia Bank. Enter and immediately turn left and go down to the L2 orange level. Exit out the back and take the alley through to Dunlop St. The YogaRoom is just two doors to the right. 

Kelly Smith discovered dance as an adult - have been teaching circle dance for more than ten years, loves creating circles for those convinced they can't dance. 

MINDFUL MOVEMENTS - Gigong/Meditation/Energy Medicine 

These classes blend the basics of Mindful Meditation with the ancient art of Qigong. The exercises are easy with no floor work and can even be done sitting. They have proven to reduce pain and anxiety, and bring harmony and balance to body, mind, and spirit. Try it!
You will learn many tools to take home with you to utilize the subtle energies around you for greater health and happiness.

Lynne Marshall, M.A. has been practicing and sharing her passion for Qigong, the “Miracle Healing from China” since 2007.
She continues to learn and apply new aspects and brings many Energy Medicine methods and tools into her classes.
